An intelligent enemy is better than a stupid friend.
I think this proverb means that you'd rather have an intelligent enemy than a stupid friend. I think this because when you have a stupid friend, you don't really learn anything from them. Your the smart one in this situation. You know everything.... so it's like your teaching them what to do. If you have an intelligent enemy, your learning stuff from them but you and your friend are both intelligent. When they do an act or do something and you never seen it... you'll learn it and study it just in case they do something like that again. You'll be a step ahead of them.
I agree with this saying because I would rather have a smart enemy( even though we're not as close) than a stupid friend. I'll feel better in both situations because with the stupid friend... I'm teaching them something and with the intelligent enemy.... I'm also learning something.
