Speech Rubric

A rubric is a scoring guide composed of set criteria used to evaluate a students performance, product, and/orproject.
1.Excellent=5pts
2.Good=4pts
3.Satisfactory=3pts
4.Improvement=2pts
5.Unsatisfactory=1pts
Aspect
1.Intoducton:Gains the attention of the audience. Clearly identifies the topic.
2.Preparation:Completly prepard, has obviously rehearsed the speech
3.Ethusiasm:facial expression and body language convey strong ethusiasm and intrest.
4.Eye Contact:Eye contact with audience virtualy all the time(except for brief glances at notes)
5.Use of language:Use of language contributes to effectivenessof speech, and vocalized pauses(un, uh, er)not daitracting.
6.Confidence:Speaks neither too quickly nor too slowly.
7.Clarity:Speaks clearly and distinctly all the time, no mispronounced words.
8.Topic:Well focused, creative and appropriate.
9.Attire:Shirts neatly tucked in skirts and/or pants. No distracting jewelry or accesories.
10.Cues:Cues the audience that end of the apeech is at hand. Brings clousure. Memorable
11.Time:Within alluted time.
