Safety Margins:Text and important images must fall within the red boxes. Extending important elements beyond these lines can cause problems during cutting, folding and assembly. Parts of images or text can end up being trimmed off or fall directly on a fold.
Cut Lines: This is approximately where your artwork will be trimmed. Keeping all text and important images inside the 1/8th inch safety margins will prevent their unintended loss during cutting.
Bleeds: This area is going to be completely trimmed away during the cutting process. Only solid colors, background images or foregrounds images that intentionally runoff the page should extend through the area. Having bleeds will not have a thin white border around it.
Folds: Be very careful when running any text or important image over folds. Text, especially text under 9 pts. can be hard to read if it is falling on a fold.

Halftone"Pop Dots" Tutorial

Step:1 Open your image put a selection around the part of the image that you would like to put the pop dots effect behind.
Step:2 Press Apple+J twice. Put a selection around layer 2
Step:3 Go under the Select menu, under modify and choose Expand. Enter 10 pixels and click okay.
Step:4 Press "d" to switch your swatches to the default colors. Option+ Delete
Step:5 Press the letter "Q" to enter quick Mask mode. Go under the filter menu, under Pixelate, and choose Color Halftone. Click okay.
Step:6 Keep running filter until you are satisfied with the results. Tap the letter "Q" to leave quick Mask mode.
Step:7 Option+Delete. Deselect your image.

Free Write:Family

I love my family. Even the ones who did something wrong to me or another family member. They may not make all good choices but I will always love them. A saying that I hear often is your family members are the ones who could hurt you. I think this means that your friends or your foes aren't the ones who hurt ........ your family members could do the same. You just have to learn to forgive. I know someone who got hurt really badly by a person she loved the most and she forgave him. At times I look back and say"Why did she do that? He took something away from her that she loved." But then I say" You have to learn to forgive people". Like I said they may not do everything right but you have to love them. To get love you have to give love. People who make the wrong decisions in life get forgiven. As I was saying I love my family members especially the ones who stick by my side and help me make the right decisions. Without them I would be nothing and I thank them for being here. Every night I pray to the Lord and I ask him to watch over my family and keep them safe. I think family are special. When you have someone who loves cherish you and guides you .... that's something special and you would want to hold on to that. Do right by your family members especially your parents.

Free Write:Friendship

To me friendship is everything. I think you would want to have a friend near your side. You would want someone to talk to and just be there for you. I do have friends at this school. I have acquaintances, friends, and best friends. I do have friends I don't talk to that live around my way and sometimes I do wish that I talk to them more often. Friends to me are loyal and trustworthy. They are a helping hand. They are kind intelligent and bright in their own ways. I don't think your friend has to be exactly like you, I think that's what makes them special. My friends are nothing like me. I don't want my friends to like everything I like or do everything I do. I want them to be them. They don't have to show off in front of me ....... they can just be themselves. I do like having friends. I'm the kind of person whose sort of a social butterfly. I LOVE to talk and I like hanging out with my friends. I think everyone needs a friend. You don't need thousands of them ..... just a few. You just can't go around and be alone your whole life. You would want someone to just talk to and be yourself around. I have a lot of friends. I have some friends who I've none since I was in the kindergarten. They been there through thick and thin and I think they could say the same about me.

Snow Day 1/28/09

Yesterday I woke up at 8:11 panicking because I thought we had school. I was calm again when she told me that school was closed. My day was okay ...... first I studied for my math test and I studied Mitosis and Meiosis for Science. Then I made some waffles and played a computer game. I called Lasheda to make sure that she wasn't at school (I had to make sure that my Mom wasn't joking). Lasheda told me that she was home and we talked for a few minutes. I went up stairs to watch t.v. with my mom. We watched Jerry Springer and Maury and we ate a lot of candy. My sisters and I ran around the house from my step dad (he was upset that we ate his candy). After all this we made dinner ........Jumbo ......... with salad. I curled my hair and watch SpongeBob with my sisters.

For me I think that I haven't been making ALL the right decisions in life. I try to but sometimes I don't. Well last year I made some mistakes that I do wish (even though I really don't make wishes) that I never would of did them. Last year I admit that I wasn't me. I never acted liked that last year. I don't know what came over me it's just that I never act like that in my life. Even though you really don't want to regret things, I do regret what I did. Now this year is different. I'm better, I'm fine on my own. I'm doing great with academics and behavior. I was good with academics before it was just my behavior. I did do some working on it over the summer and I'm better now.
